大家一定会注意到每种酒都有一个ABV 和IBU

ABV：Alcohol by volume,一种酒精含量的计量方式，指酒精含量的体积百分比，即日常所说的酒的“度数”。 酒精饮料的强度是以酒精在某一体积中的百分比（ABV）作为指标。普通强度的淡啤酒的ABV约为3.5%， 但是我们从上图中清晰可以看到Railway City Brewing Co. 的度数远高于正常淡啤酒，其中一款Platform 17 ABV达到了9.7%

IBU：國際苦度值（International Bitterness Unit, IBU）是釀造啤酒所使用的苦度計算單位，測量來自啤酒花在煮沸中異構化並溶解的苦味 α 酸。1 IBU = 1毫克 α 酸異構物 / 1公升啤酒，啤酒的苦度可以從 5 IBU 到 100 IBU，人的舌頭可以感受到的苦味大約從 12 IBU 算起，而 6 IBU 以下人類則分辨不出苦味的程度。啤酒花的苦味在平衡麦芽甜味是很重要的角色，即使是强调麦芽风味的啤酒也是如此，其实很少啤酒可以达到完全平衡，大多都还是会偏向某一种味道。不过，国际苦度值（IBU）只测量了啤酒中的 α 酸，这并不是唯一的苦度指标来源。一杯 30 IBU 干型不甜的啤酒，会比一杯 50 IBU 但口感甜润的啤酒尝起来更苦。

Railway City Brewing Co.的啤酒不仅仅有味道甘甜的啤酒，也酿造出IBU极高的酒如Double Dead Elephant，IBU高达90。虽然这款酒味道有些苦涩，但给人带来的后味却是甘来，让人久久不能忘怀。

小麦啤酒确实做的好是事实，大部分中国人又喜欢喝麦香味浓的啤酒，两者刚好契合。另外种类啤酒譬如IPA，虽然有自己的特色，酒花味重和香，但是IBU高，相对应的受众人群层次偏高。另外就是中国人的啤酒搭配习惯。大家喝个酒不就是图个乐吗，不会像美国一样去讲究什么类型啤酒的啤酒搭配什么菜。刚好小麦啤酒有极其百搭，又相对便宜易得，买一打放家里什么时候喝，想怎么喝都行。不像什么三料四料这样的重口味啤酒还要去考虑配什么菜才能不会掩盖住酒的特点。
